Support in Your Immediate Postpartum at Nativiti Family Birth Center

The time after giving birth is filled with joy. But it also brings its own set of challenges. At Nativiti Family Birth Center, we ensure you receive dedicated support, care, and guidance from experienced midwives. Here is an overview of the postpartum support you receive at our birth center.

Immediate Postpartum Care

Right after delivery, our primary focus is ensuring everyone’s safety and comfort. The midwife helps the mother settle into a comfortable position for skin-to-skin contact with her newborn. She also provides hands-on assistance with latching to support early breastfeeding. Throughout this time, our team closely monitors the vital signs of mother and baby to address health concerns.

Ongoing Support for New Moms

Beyond immediate care, our midwives provide ongoing support throughout the postpartum period. This includes a thorough physical check-up for the mother to assist in her recovery and address any complications, such as excessive bleeding, tearing, or signs of infection. Our midwives also offer essential emotional support to help mothers adjust to this new phase of life.

The first step for the baby is a detailed health examination to identify and address any issues early on, such as jaundice, breathing difficulties, or feeding problems, ensuring the baby is adapting well to life outside the womb.

We offer breastfeeding support by teaching moms effective latching and positioning techniques for smoother feeding sessions and practical guidance on infant care.

Preparing for Home Care

Before the family heads home, our midwives provide detailed guidance to ensure the mother feels prepared and confident in caring for her baby. We teach essential safety practices to prevent accidents and ensure the baby’s well-being while educating parents on when and how to seek help if the mother or baby shows signs of health concerns.

A midwife is always available during this time to answer any questions, provide medical guidance, and offer emotional support as the mother transitions into this new phase of life.

If any complications require advanced medical intervention, our midwives can facilitate a seamless transfer to a hospital to ensure both mother and baby receive the necessary medical care.
