Our childbirth education class is loosely based on Birthing From Within, and focuses on the idea that birth is a life-altering rite of passage, not a medical event, even when medical care is a part of the birth. In addition to this, five beliefs of women who “birth from within” are that:
Join our 12 hour childbirth series. Our classes are flexible and we can discuss whatever is on your hearts and minds. Our goal is to inform and support you as well as prepare you for a natural, physiologic birth. We look forward to helping you have the best birth experience possible.
The weeknight class is a four week series beginning the first Wednesday of each month. Classes are from 6:30-9:30pm. The cost for the Childbirth Class is $250.00.
The weekend class is the 2nd weekend of each month from 10am – 4:30pm. There will be a 1 hour lunch break. The cost for this class is $250.
We also offer a refresher class (for those who have already taken child birth class) and would like a customized refresher to meet your individual needs. This class is by appointment only.
Our breastfeeding class will be once per month, on the last Saturday of each month at 10 – 11:30 am. Breastfeeding classes are held at 26615 Oak Ridge Dr. across the street from the Nativiti office. The cost is $25 per couple for Nativiti clients and $40 per couple for non-Nativiti clients. This class is taught by Sherri Urban, IBCLC. Registration required. Please call 281-296-2333.
Our breastfeeding support group will be once per month, on the last Saturday of each month at 12:30 – 2 pm. This group is led by Sherri Urban, BSN, RN, IBCLC.
